I used to think of reliability as insurance. You pay for it, you hope you never need it, and you defend the budget every year. 🤯
I have learned to see it differently: reliability is a strategic capability that enables risk taking, velocity, change and innovation.

This morning I brought that view to a 𝐖𝐓𝐂 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐬 conversation on Innovation & Reliability with Johan Van Langendonck, where we explored one question: what does innovation have to do with reliability?

It was a great conversation. Johan brought the business strategy lens, I brought the technology side, and together we arrived at the same conclusion: they complement each other. Trust fuels innovation, and reliability is what builds that trust.

Along the way we touched on how companies choose which innovation to pursue, why a clear framework for decisions and execution matters, and how regulation and partners can be part of the design rather than an excuse.

Thank you to Pedro Sampaio for the invitation and to Freerk Faber for moderating the conversation.
