Your AI Needs the Right Context

Holoself 0.8.0 addresses that problem by making personal context more selective, reviewable and easier to manage.

The release adds a local Workbench, task-specific context selection, bounded loading budgets and receipts showing what was shared. Knowledge can now be marked as current, historical or superseded. A shared skill can be installed once, while integrations can request personal context without reloading information already owned by the project.

The capabilities matter, but the design lessons extend beyond Holoself:

➡️Context quality is a selection problem. Loading everything increases cost, noise and the risk of outdated information influencing a decision.

➡️Personalization needs clear ownership. Projects should keep their work. A personal context layer should retain only approved, reusable knowledge.

➡️AI memory needs a lifecycle. Information changes, and systems should distinguish current knowledge from useful history.

➡️Trust requires inspectability. People should be able to see what was selected, where it came from and what an AI proposes to remember.

1️⃣Can the user inspect why information was included?

2️⃣Can outdated knowledge be excluded without being destroyed?

3️⃣Can the user reject what the system wants to remember?

This release is another step toward answering those questions locally and transparently.
